Well, it's the Temple Bar in - ta-daa - Temple Bar. The outside of this establishment must have been photographed as often as the pints in the Gravity Bar. It's a traditional pub that mostly (only?) caters to tourists. "Traditional" Irish live music every night, and the pint and Irish Coffee prices rival the ones of the nearby 5-star Clarence Hotel. They do pour a decent pint of Guinness, but you'll find public houses with more atmosphere within a radius of 500 metres.

Class bar, the craic is mighty and there is a great mix from all over the world, a little pricey but worth it, rarely a bad night in there

Hence the name, this pub is obviously one of the originals in Temple Bar. It's traditional, authentic and easily crowded. Among the many wall enhancements, you will find tidbits of history and plenty of old pictures of Dublin back in the day! The cost for drinks does exceed a budget, however one or two drinks here before a pub crawl are acceptable and well worth it; you'll love the Irish vibe. The bartenders are unreal and so nice, and it's a perfect location for a night out in Dublin city!

I was very fond of the pulse of this place as it throbbed with people on a Saturday night. The music promises cheese which is great as you can sing along while you're queueing at the bar or just ploughing through thr crowds to get to the two little smoking gardens oddly (but prettily) plonked in the centre.
If you're after a quiet place to sip your pint this certainly isn't the palce for you and if you're coming across with pounds prepare to be taken aback by the cost of the pints - 4 half pints of and a glass of wine were nearly 30 Euro and when we went across the exchange rate was 1 for 1.
Nice vibe, friendly atmosphere, and a good night but there is a tendency of it getting too full and I probably would try it on a different night.
Urbanite I know I was shocked - makes Dublin one of the most expensive cities in Europe now...

On Temple Bar, like Leicester Square in London, you would expect most places to be overly expensive, cheesy and touristy and while this pub pulls in a great crowd I think this place is actually pretty decent and authentic. For a good pint of Guinness and some suitable Irish folk music look no further.

This bar is a good place to come to at weekends, The craic does be good and the music, the only thing is it can get full of tourist during the summer months

From the minute the door opens, until the bouncers kick yu out, this pub is heaving. You can’t move, you can’t breathe, but you can’t bring yourself to leave either. The staff are amazing, remembering your orders without you having to tell them, and the place is kept clean and tidy throughout the day and night.
There’s always live music, and it’s good. The atmosphere is bouncing, and the prices, while expensive, are not the worst Dublin has to offer.

we called into this bar on a friday afternoon around 5pm, & you’d be fooled for thinking it was 8-9pm saturday night
the place was truly swinging
live music, busling activity, a really great 'craik’
be warned however, any later & the place is truly heaving!!!

The Temple Bar pub is located in the heart of Temple Bar and is ideally located there for tourists. It is a Irish theme pub with traditional Irish music played there every night. It gets very busy on a Saturday night, so be prepared for this.

If you go to Dublin and head to Temple Bar then you will inevitably end up here somewhere along the drunken pilgrimage of your pub crawl.
The whole Temple Bar strip is quite expensive, although being the main tourist destination that’s to be expected.
Plenty of stags and hens in here - like pretty much everywhere in Dublin, this place has a real atmosphere, the cacophony of local and cosmopolitan dialects like drunken hornets in their nests…
Recommended, and no finer place to spill out of once you’ve had one too many
Please drink sensibly though;-)
nikfry I was really disappointed with Temple bar after all the hype I had heard - much better bars to drink in Dublin

GianlucaElia I spent most of the trip tuning my ears for an Irish brogue. Following Irish accents like a Will o’ the Wisp hoping they’d lead me away from Temple Bar and into less expensive and more authentic areas.
Still, it’s worthy of a gander while you’re out there.

The Temple Bar seems popular by default. It is centrally located in the Temple Bar area, and having the same name as the most touristy area in Dublin has put it in good stead. I do think it is a good place for live music, but in a city that prides itself on the underground sounds of its culture often times playing here means you have “sold out”. For value for money and a bit of space, never mind an actual Irish national insight, I think a look through the windows is enough to say you’ve been there!

Temple Bar is world famous as Dublin’s party district. There are many pubs in this area, all with their own history, and the street is always choc-a-bloc with revellers. The packed environment just adds to the atmosphere though. You can often see superb Irish musicians performing here and they make any visit to Temple Bar well worth it.

Right in the middle of the Irish bar area in the centre of Dublin… this place is probably one of the most well known of the pubs in Dublin. Definitely worth a visit for a pint of guiness or Irish beer. Does have live Irish music on; however, I would say there are better places with great atmospheres/ live bands in walking distance from this bar and in the Temple bar area.

The Temple Bar is a very popular tourist haunt where you have to arrive early to get a table near the bar to hear the live bands. The crowd who go here are quite young and the atmosphere is always really boisterous and fun!
If you are looking for a truly traditional irish place to visit, then there are better places to go. BUT this is great for large groups, small fun groups, live music, friendly staff and occasionally live irish dancing.
Although this bar gets busy, i have never found it uncomfortably so, and i have never found the staff to be anything other than friendly and helpful.
If you are eating here then i recommend the oysters! They are really yummy and not badly priced.

For many visiting dublin this is often one of the first stops on the list. However i did manage to last out and just stumbled upon it by mistake, its besstled in a maze of old cobbled streets in the centre of dublin just off from the river liffey.
To be honest i hadnt planned on going to temple bar as i assumed it would be very busy and full off stag parties but its wasnt it was very relaxed most people just stay for one or two drinks just to day that have been to temple bar.
The bar is quite small and its not comfortable enough to stay for too long but they do good food for a quick lunch and serve some really good oysters so its worth a visit. And you dint pay a premium for being in such an iconic bar and thats a pleasant surprise.
Theres some nice places to eat nearby and in the evening it really livens up as the streets are full of budget hostels so thats when the stag parties start to come to life.
The time that you visit will determine the experinece that you have.
