Fibbers is the one stronghold of old-school metal and no-frills rock in Dublin, and keeps going for I don't know how many years now. Besides serving as a live venue with shows on Fridays and Saturdays, it also has a late bar license that keeps it open even on Sundays until 3 in the morning. Plus the occasional drinking promotion. On Thursdays it's 3 € per pint, with a 5 € cover charge at the door after 8 PM.

Disclaimer: this one is about tattoos, long hairs, drinking shots and rocking out loud. It stinks. It is full of bearded people and the odd tourist group looking for action on a Sunday night. Don't expect a) food, b) good manners or c) clean toilets. But do expect to meet some famous rock musicians (Korn, Machine Head and Down amongst others) for their aftershowparty here.

Ah, Fibbers. What a great place!! If you're into rock music or heavy metal you'll enjoy your time here. It's pretty dingy and gross but if you want to go for a night out without getting dolled up to the nines, just have a few drinks and a laugh with friends, this is the place for ya! The music is consistently brilliant. The people are sociable, fun, and interesting! The atmosphere is lively and energetic, with total headbangers, but loads of different types of people as well. Drinks are cheap, especially during the week - Monday drinks are 2euro, Thursday 3euro drinks! Absolutely unreal. Love Fibbers.

Fibbers is a very cool place. The music is good too, rock and heavy metal. You can meet different people there with alternative styles. The drinks are cheap and you can even get a free pint if you contest on a karaoke rock night!

Fibbers is always handy if u fancy a night out away from all the typical crap clubs in town that play the same auld music as radio stations are playin all day long.

Now im not a rocker in fact i love dance music so i dont go here for the tunes although they aint bad either :-) But its just type place anyone can go into and just relax not have to get all dressed up and not have to blow all there money on mucky pints.

So ya to be honest who cares bout the darkness and the lovely jacks haha id rather go in any night the week then some over priced fancy place that will kick u out around 1am anyway.

Fibbers is a dirty little pub on parnell street that tends to smell by the end of the night and judging from that alone it should be an awful place, but it is actually my favourite place for a night out in dublin. Its a good night out with dancing without the need to get dressed up or wear heels :) actually i would strongly advise against heels or hevy clothes becaues you will find that they are very impractical in this place! Thursday nights are the best in my opinion, the door charge is 5e and drinks are 3e the thing that makes this pub so different from so many others is the community, it is a place where you can talk to anyone and everyone. The music is rock and heavy metal and i would not recomend this pub on a thursday to anyone who considers themselves old.

A Dublin institution, this alternative club has cheap drinks, rocking good music and a bizzare smell like no other.

A pub during the day, Thursday through Saturday night, Fibbers is the only rock club in the city. Thursday night is cheap entry and cheap drinks all night long. Saturday is traditionally the busiest night and worth a visit if only to people watch while dancing like a lunatic.

Yes it’s a dingy and sweaty cave with toilets straight out of a horror movie, but if you’re under the age of twenty one and an alternative music fan you’re going to love it. There’s nowhere else in town to dance to Nine Inch Nails and Kim Wilde on a regular basis (except for gothy Dominion around the corner).

On the down side, the bouncers are perpetually rude, the regulars look younger every year and can be ridiculousy rude themselves - but it’s still a cracking place. The old smoking yard is sorely missed, but has been replaced by a rather bizarre smoking marquee of sorts, that’s worth a look just for it’s uncomfortable silliness.

Make sure you get your bearings while you’re still sober, the layout is a bit labyrinthine to the tipsy novice and it’s easy to find yourself endless ascending identical looking staircases, that lead to a different place every time and finding that every turning leads to the ladies toilets…hmm.

If you’re really put off by the smell or the queues in the toilets downstairs, hop upstairs to the hidden pub ones - totally clean and virtually smell and queue free! marvellous.
