See reviews in more languagesIt’s …ok. Not really a place I would want to get stuck in for a 12 hour stopover. It always looks a bit rundown and even though it’s got a lot more shops and eateries than Cork Airport, it’s design and overall appearance (as well as friendliness of staff) leaves a lot to be desired.
lovely airport very snazzy but easy to get lost in to the only thing its missing is a laus or dart type of transport to get to the city.

Dublin Airport is in a great location just a handful of miles from Dublin City Centre.
Well serviced and recently expanded to the highest European standard.
Highly recommended by Dublin Visitors – http://www.dublin1.webs.com

A big airport with a nice design, but it only looks good from outside! It’s not good structured and has very long ways…

A decent big airport with good facilities although it is let down somewhat by the arrivals/departures area, taxi stand, drop off point, pick up point.

This is a MASSIVE airport. There are what feels like miles and miles of bars, restaurants and shops, and the whole place is spick and span. I'd recommend eating after you go through security though as the pithy little foodcourt before it is overpriced and a bit rubbish. The staff at the airport are very friendly, and you can buy a ticket for the bus into town from the tourist information desk.

The largest and busiest of our Irish Airports.
The fact it is big and busy means it's not my thing. I would much rather fly from Shannon as both are equal distance from my house in Mayo.
Parking for long term is (like all airports) expensive and a good distance away. Shuttle buses are frequest and usually with a smile. The flat battery service in this Quickpark private car park is excellent!
Terminal 1 is getting a bit dated but sure who and what isn't. Terminal 2 is looking sleek and sexy but I haven;t flown from there yet.
Staff are usually friendly and helpful but prices for food and duty free are Celtic Tiger stuff and haven't been adjusted.

Takes an age to get out there even on the dedicated busses. Better experiences with Aer Lingus than Ryan Air.

The airport is quite nice and not too overcrowded. The duty free shops are very good and you can get really good reductions in them. The only thing that is pricy is some of the restaurants or food places. Go to a fast food place rather than a restaurant for better value.

As far as airports go this one isn’t too bad. It’s not that often that you will spend too much time in queues here and it’s never really overly busy. It has flights going to pretty much everywhere, with routes to a lot of the major UK airports. There’s a lot of work going on here at the moment and a huge new car park is being built too. There are regular buses to here and a taxi from the city centre will cost around 30 euro. It has the standard food court, couple of bars and a few shops to waste some holiday money. My criticism of this place really is its lack of working atm’s (always seem to be not working) and the Ryanair departure gates are always right at the back of the airport, so get there early!

Getting better. It used to be awful and a disgraceful entry point to Ireland. But they have been doing some construction recently and it has definitely improved. New Aer Lingus check in area downstairs and food area upstairs have eased congestion. The layout of the luggage belts is still problematic. Needs a bigger bar in the food hall airside.

I’ve only been to Dublin once, but we arrived in at Dublin Airport.
I was very impressed with the airport, and found it very easy to find my way around.
The staff were very pleasant and friendly.
On arrival at the airport a shuttle bus service was available just outside the airport that took us to the visitors information centre which was very close to our hotel.
We then took a 5 minute walk to our hotel.
We did the same for the trip back to the airport at the end of our stay.
I would recommend it to others - it seemed a lot calmer than a lot of the other larger airports.

Dublin airport has to be one of europes best. Everytime I have flown to the irish capital, I have allways been processed quickly and efficently, better than what Ive experienced at some airports, particulary in the UK. Dublin airport has four piers, A, B, C and D. D pier is the latest edition, and runs on a suspended walkway, which if your in a rush to get to your flight can be a nightmare. Dublin Airport is well laid out, and has lots of duty free shops, except if your flying in the EU it is proberlly more expensive! Overall a great airport, id fly from here again. And its home to Ryanair.

Dublin airport is currently undergoing some major reconstruction. Work has started on a new terminal and due to this, some of the departures & arrivals halls are temporary portacabins. Depending on which airline you fly with you may be required to walk a long distance to get to the boarding gates. Currently with ryanair flights you have to walk a 20 minute route through a temporary structure of echoey tunnels. Thankfully this shouldn’t be the case for too much longer.
The duty free shops in the airport are similar to that available at Stansted or Gatwick airports and once you have negotiated your way round the departure walkways, there are plenty of coffee shops to relax in while you wait for your flight

The infrastructure linking into Dublin airport is not bad, there is a good range of buses that can b ring the traveler easily into Dublin city center and drop you off right at the tram station.
However, apart from the accessibility, the airport could be much better managed. Checking in was not much of an issue, there are plenty of check-in desks but could be more spaced out to make more room for movement (especially for those with a luggage trolley). However, the security situation could be much better, the last time I passed through, it took over 60 minutes to simply get to the security check - to some extent, I was lucky my flight was delayed or it would have been a near miss!
All I can say is, I hope the new end they are constructing will do a lot too alleviate these problems!

I thought London airports were bad. WOW! I only passed through this airport on Ryanair connections to London, but it is really the worse airport. Its a good thing I had two hours between connections. The walk from Terminal 2 gate to the connections in the main terminal took about 15 min, then I had to go through a short security queue, and make the 15 min walk back to the gate.
Everything in this airport is so expensive it crazy. A sandwich here will cost a minimum of 5 euros. A coffee and cookie - 5 euros. Its also the most ugly building you will ever see. The main shopping 'arcade’ is shambolic. Even the modern part of Terminal 2 looked ugly. There should be more flat escalators for rapid transit. Tear it down and build a new airport I say. Birmingham really shows how Dublin Airport should be like.

Really, the most immediate of the country’s embarrassments. An eye sore from within and without, Dublin Airport is ridiculously underserviced, over-crowded and inefficient. Westlife welcomes you to the nation. The new terminals are, it has to be said, a MASSIVE improvement on the 1930’s wood panelled arrival halls that preceded them. I can only hope that they have big plans for this place… that’s the only excuse I can think of.

pretty big airport. great foodplace to sit and eat before you check-in so at least you have something to occupy yourself with instead of sitting around

The airport was pretty much all I saw when I visited Dublin this week as I was only on Irish soil for 7 hours and I was in the airport for 1.5 of those hours.
It seems quite sprawling and I got a bit lost trying to find my gate, but that may have been due to my frantically running around trying to find both a birthday present for my flatmate and a toilet.
It didn’t take much time to check in/get through security at all, although I didn’t have any bags or drugs or bombs.
It was a relatively pleasant experince though. Could do with more ATMs.
